A small congregation gathers for Frank, who's been named by the police as the man behind the factory fire, much to Tracy's disgust
Emmerdale villagers have run with the police’s decision that Frank Clayton (Michael Praed) was the man behind the factory. And for guilty parties Kerry (Laura Norton) and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) that’s kinda fine. But for Frank’s grieving daughter Tracy (Amy Walsh) it’s just not fair. She’s convinced her dad had nothing to do with the blaze that resulted in his death.
So, as the funeral rolls around, hardly anyone in the village is planning to turn up as they’re not impressed with the man who’s ruined so many locals’ livelihoods.
Before the service, Tracy tells Megan (Gaynor Faye), Frank’s girlfriend, that a ring box was found at the scene, Megan’s stunned. Buying into Tracy’s theory that Frank was in the factory to pick up the ring, she slips on the band and bursts in to tears. Though Megan’s moved by Tracy’s words, no one else seems to want to listen, even her sister Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick).
Inside the church, Megan who’s now a firm believer in Frank’s innocence, delivers a searing address to the scant congregation and makes a life-changing decision about what’s next for her and daughter Eliza.
As Megan pushes Kerry and Amy’s buttons, will the mother-daughter duo confess to their parts in the deadly disaster?
