It's almost the moment of truth for Robert as he heads to court on Emmerdale to find out if he'll pay the price for attacking rapist Lee...
Robert Sugden (played by Ryan Hawley) has decided to ignore the advice of his solicitor who thinks he should plead guilty in court, after he attacked his younger sister Victoria’s (Isabel Hodgins) rapist Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie) on Emmerdale.
But he could be setting himself up for disastrous repercussions in the first of tonight’s double-bill of Emmerdale on ITV since Victoria has been having doubts about lying on Robert’s behalf in court to save him from being sent to prison.
Although Victoria previously lied to the police and told them Robert attacked Lee with a shovel in self-defence, after the rapist continued to hound her and her family, in her heart she knows that’s not what really happened and angry Robert deliberately picked-up the shovel and dealt the blow that left Lee in a coma.
As Robert, his husband Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Aaron’s teenage sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) gather at court, they’d all better brace themselves for a bumpy ride!
Could Robert be facing a possible prison sentence for trying to protect the one he loves?
Emmerdale continues weeknights from 7:00pm on ITV
