The law finally catches up with teacher Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) when David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) lures her into meeting him.
David has been spying on the email correspondence between Maya and her teenage lover, David’s son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Platt) and has discovered that Jacob is planning to meet Maya at the cricket pavilion in the village with her passport and cash so that the pair of them can make their getaway.
Now able to intercept Jacob’s emails thanks to Ryan’s help, David poses as Jacob and sends a reply to Maya, setting the meeting time to 6pm. However Maya is in for an almighty shock when she arrives at the pavilion in the early evening to find David there instead of Jacob!
Although Maya is frightened about what a vengeful David might be planning to do to her, her ex insists he just wants answers. He is racked with guilt that he never spotted the signs of Jacob and Maya’s affair and wants to hear from Maya herself how things got to this point.
Maya insists that she and Jacob are very much in love as a dismayed David listens incredulous. As their discussion gets more heated, David’s fury rises, however just as Maya pushes past him to try and make her escape, she hears sirens approaching and the flashing of blue lights.
David has tipped off the police and there is no escape for Maya!
Elsewhere the Dingles are excited when mum Lisa (Jane Cox) accepts Harriet’s offer to marry her and Zack in just two days time! Can the family rally together in such a short space of time and make it a special day for the pair?
Plus Cain feels emotional when Lisa has a heart-to-heart with him and tells him she wants him to take over as guardian of little Kyle now that she is terminally ill and might not have long to live. A choked up Cain, who is the lad’s biological dad, is overwhelmed but agrees to follow Lisa’s wishes.
This is the first episode of Emmerdale on this evening
