Cartoonland princess Amy Adams is exiled to modern-day New York, where her chirpy personality and sunny outlook soon warm the heart of cynical lawyer Patrick Dempsey.

Cute, charming and very, very funny, Disney’s spoof of its own fairy-tale films makes for an inspired romantic fantasy comedy. Adams sweeps all before her – enjoy especially her interaction with the local animals – but the ideally cast Dempsey and James Marsden, as her prince charming back home, amuse lots too and Susan Sarandon is also great as the scheming sorceress who sends Adams into the real world.

Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s songs Happy Working Song, So Close and That’s How You Know were nominated for oscars.
