The series signs off by trying to prove three paintings are by famous artists…

Fiona Bruce and her art historian sidekick Philip Mould this time try to prove three paintings rather than just the one are genuine works of art. Perhaps the most intriguing of the trio is a portrait of a young boy, which its Belgian owners hope is by celebrated Dutch artist Willem de Kooning.

The Belgian couple bought the painting for just 450 Euros from eBay, but if it’s the real deal it could be worth up to £100,000. However, due to a recent faking scandal, the team face an uphill struggle because very few experts will commit to saying that a piece is a genuine work by De Kooning. If only detective shows could be as gripping. A fantastic finish to a great series.
