Egos, hair oil and one-liners are unpacked, as the trio board the camper van they’ll be calling home for the next few weeks.
This Morning chef Gino is in the driving seat tonight, as he escorts Gordon and First Dates maître d’ Fred around his neck of Italy.
That means Vespas and pizza in Naples, limoncello tasting in Sorrento, mozzarella ball-making in Southern Italy, and skinny dipping whenever the opportunity presents itself!
A show that strikes a balance between culinary adventure and jolly boys’ outing.
The first stop is Italy, and the pals must work together to create a wedding feast for Gino’s friends Marco and Clio.
Next week, they are in Fred’s cherished France, attempting to deliver the first oyster festival, and in the final episode, the friends are off to Gordon’s native Scotland to compete in the Highland Games.
Here, Gordon, 51, tells us more…
What makes you like working with Gino and Fred?
I rarely come across three guys who bond the way we have, especially in this industry.
In the Christmas special, there was a moment when we were suspended in a cave and, even though we’re challenging each other, we had each other’s backs.
What can you reveal about this week’s Italian adventure?
We’re helping some of Gino’s best friends celebrate the renewal of their wedding vows.
Gino and I are cooking while the best maître d’ in the business, Fred, looks after front of house.
There was beautiful local octopus and pig.
It was on a beach and we had a power cut! I stay calm in those situations, but Fred was all over the place and Gino was panicking.
