Diane Hutchinson decides to go and see her step-son and convicted rapist, Finn O'Connor, in prison in a bid to help Sinead
Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) braces herself to visit her step-son, Finn O’Connor, in prison.
Diane was recently devastated to learn that Sinead O’Connor (Stephanie Davies) was raped by her husband Laurie Shelby (Kyle Pryor). Wanting to get inside the head of a rapist and in an attempt to try and help Sinead in some way, she decides to pay Finn, Sinead’s brother, a visit.
Controversial character Finn (played by Keith Rice) was convicted of raping his teacher John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) in 2014 and subsequently sent to prison. He was also found guilty of trying to sexually assault Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox), who still lives in the village and will no doubt be shattered to hear Finn is due to be released soon.
Speaking about his return to the soap, Keith says, “I’m so excited to be back and working with the talented cast and crew again. I’m really intrigued to see how Finn will integrate back into his family, and also into society. I’m looking forward to exploring that and giving the storyline the respect and sensitivity it deserves.”
Meanwhile, following recent events with headteacher Sally St Claire (Annie Wallace), Laurie Shelby is now reigning supreme as temporary head of Hollyoaks High.
Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward), who was himself raped by football coach Buster Smith, is desperate to help Sinead with her plight and tries to find people who have been abused by Laurie in the past, to help fight her case.
He arranges to meet up with two women who are potential victims of Laurie’s and gets Sienna to go along with him. Will the women be able to help Sinead and speak out against Laurie?
Hollyoaks is shown weekdays on C4 at 6.30pm with the next episode following on E4
