Home and Away spoilers: Dean Thompson is reunited with his mum Karen

Dean Thompson is thrilled his mum Karen is back in the Bay on Home and Away. But how long will it be before Karen finds out Dean's hiding a secret from her?

Dean Thompson’s (played by Patrick O’Connor) mum Karen (Georgia Adamson) has been in hospital for months on Home and Away, receiving help for (1:15pm/6:00pm on Channel 5, see our TV Guide for full listings) her mental health issues.

So the surf instructor is in for a surprise when he discovers Karen has returned to Summer Bay and is hanging out at the Caravan Park with his girlfriend Ziggy Astoni’s (Sophie Dillman) dad, Ben (Rohan Nichol).

At first, Dean is worried about his mum’s reappearance. But he’s relieved when Karen reveals she has been discharged from hospital and is still taking her medication, and plans to stick around for a while.

However, there are a couple of small problems to handle. Dean still hasn’t told Karen about either Ziggy or the discovery he has a half-sister, Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) who now lives in the Bay too!

When will there be a good time to break the news? And how might Karen react to the bombshell that Dean’s been back in touch with his estranged dad Rick Booth too?

Elsewhere, Irene Roberts (Lynne McGranger) is over the moon now that teenager Bella Nixon (Courtney Miller) has agreed to testify at Irene’s trial over her attack on internet stalker Tommy.

But Bella remains nervous at the thought of what awaits both her and Irene in the court room when they both come face-to-face with terrifying Tommy again…

Meanwhile, Colby Thorne (Tim Franklin) and girlfriend Mackenzie appear to be getting even more loved-up as they spend plenty of time between the sheets!

Home and Away continues weekdays at 1:15pm and 6:00pm on Channel 5
