But a hurt Marilyn confronts John down on the beach and makes it clear she’s been a dedicated mum to Jett since the death of John’s second wife Gina, who originally adopted troubled Jett.
John realises the error of his ways, but still can’t stop obsessing about the welfare of injured soldier Jett, who has just moved into a place of his own in the city.
Convinced that Jett cannot cope alone now he’s in a wheelchair following an explosion at his army base in Afghanistan, John announces he wants to move to the city to be closer to their son.
However, when Marilyn once again argues that Jett needs to be given the chance to live independently, and that their lives are in Summer Bay, will John listen? Or is he about to abandon Marilyn and move to the city without her?
