A lovely bit of alternative scheduling for non-sports fans.

First, Alan Yentob celebrates the life and work of the comedian Mel Brooks, whose career goes back to the 1940s, when he worked as a gag writer for the legendary Sid Caesar.

That’s followed by Brooks’s two funniest films: Young Frankenstein (11.00pm) and The Producers (12.40am), which gave us the timeless song and dance number Springtime for Hitler.
