A group of paratroopers, including David Elliot and Mark Stanley, try to find a safe way out of a minefield in Afghanistan.
Stationed at the Kajaki Dam, the soldiers set out to engage the Taliban, but are forced to mount a rescue mission when one of their men is badly injured by a landmine in a dried-out riverbed – they have unwittingly stumbled across an old Russian minefield.
Well crafted and with fine acting from Elliot and Stanley, this is as much a tribute to the courage and heroism of British soldiers as it is about the horrors of war.
This film starts at 11.00pm on BBC2 Northern Ireland.
