Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy and Jason Clarke play Prohibtion-era bootlegging siblings in this epic gangster movie based on a larger-than-life true story.
In the mountains of Franklin County in early 1930s Virginia, the Bondurant brothers have gained a formidable reputation, which has helped them build up a thriving business distilling and selling moonshine.
Then a crooked new DA (Guy Pearce) sets out to bring them down. As things start to turn ugly, two women (Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska) enter the brothers’ lives.
This is a violent but well-made thriller and the performances, especially from Pearce and Hardy, are excellent.
