But this compelling Oscar-nominated documentary shows that what might be just an entertaining way to pass the afternoon for some families was life-changing for the parents of Owen Suskind.

After his behaviour changed radically at the age of three, he was diagnosed with autism.

But then it became apparent that Owen was memorising dialogue from Disney films such as Aladdin and Peter Pan and this eventually became his way of communicating and making sense of the outside world.
