Meet DI Bradford and team, cops at the sharp end of policing in London Kills
David Bradford is a seemingly straightforward murder detective in London Kills, a five-part daytime series (repeated nightly) showing from Monday to Friday this week.
Making up the group of sleuths are DC Rob Brady (EastEnders actor Bailey Patrick) and trainee detective constable Billie Fitzgerald (Unforgotten’s Tori Allen-Martin).
Shot and staged in the style of a documentary, each episode sees the team investigate a new murder case.
Events kick off when David (Hugo Speer) – whose wife is missing presumed dead – cuts short his compassionate leave and returns to work, despite abrasive colleague Vivienne’s misgivings.
“Each episode begins with a body,” Hugo told TV Times.
“Whether it’s a hanging body or a body washed up from the Thames. It’s the team’s job to find out
who, what, where, when and how during the investigation.
“It’s a procedural drama with the arc of the disappearance of David’s wife hanging over it all.”
In this opening episode, David and the team are trying to solve the murder of MP Kirsten Pryce’s son…
London Kills is a refreshingly by-the-book detective series, where murders are grisly but not overly graphic, the suspects are shady and the story arc compelling.
The series boasts an array of guest stars including Emmerdale and Last Tango in Halifax star Dean Andrews and Dempsey and Makepeace’s Glynis Barber.
TV Times rating: ****
The repeat is at 11.50pm (in Ireland at 12.20am and in Scotland at 12.50am)
