When Gwen’s father, Tom, helps renegade sorcerer, Tauren, turn lead into gold using a magical stone, the pair are arrested. As guards appear, led by Arthur, Tom goes quietly but Tauren uses his powers to escape. King Uther tells Morgana and Arthur that Tom will face trial and, if he’s found guilty, will face death. But Morgana insists that if he kills Gwen’s father, she will never forgive him.

While searching for Gwen, Morgana finds the magical stone that the sorcerer must have dropped during his escape and puts it in her pocket. Merlin can sense the stone but is unsure what the powerful feeling of magic means. When Morgana realises that Uther plans to kill Tom, whatever the outcome of his trial, she takes matters into her own hands and gives Tom the keys to his cell…

Later that night, Tom escapes – but when the guards discover his cell is empty, Uther orders that he be captured and killed immediately. Despite his best efforts, Tom is caught and struck down on the spot, leaving Gwen devastated. A furious Morgana confronts Uther – but her behaviour results in her being sent to prison by the angry King.

Will Morgana’s fight for what she believes in endanger the lives of those around her?
