The acclaimed daytime drama returns for a ninth run.
For a daytime drama, Moving On packs an almighty punch.
Written by and starring Jodhi May (Strike Back, Game of Thrones) this opening episode (four more standalones are on through the week) tackles the harrowing subject of child abuse. Jodhi plays Rachel, a married mum of two who has a secret – 33 years ago, when she was 12, a teacher abused her.
By chance her mother sees that teacher and Rachel must confront her horrific childhood all over again.
While this is a story about abuse ruining a life before it’s begun, it’s also about how that abuse affected a mother-daughter relationship.
Exquisitely written and performed – don’t miss it.
