Xanthe Canning was undecided about her future when she found out her exam results weren’t good enough to get her into the university of her choice.
But after plenty of persuasion from her friends, family and ex-boyfriend Ben Kirk, Xanthe’s decided to pack her bags and leave Erinsborough to go and study medicine at university in far away Queensland.
The future medical student shares a bittersweet goodbye with her dad Gary and grandmother Sheila before waving goodbye to her Ramsay Street neighbours. Bye Xanthe… and good luck!
Meanwhile, it’s not Gary’s lucky day. Not only does his daughter move miles away but his girlfriend Amy Williams decides to break up with him!
Amy has been unsure if she can forgive Gary’s dishonesty and dodgy dealings, which saw him steal from the building site she’s in charge of.
But when Gary’s former boss turns up and demands to know where some of the stolen goods Gary was shifting have gone, Amy snaps and sends the thug packing with a piece of her mind. But unfortunately for Gary, she decides to send him packing too!

But when pub manager Sheila echoes Bea’s selfish mum Liz Conway and has doubts Bea can pull off the performance, will Bea’s stage-fright get the better of her again?
