Drama anthology examining key aspects of criminal justice, beginning with Through the Gates (10pm) and a Mother's Love (10.35pm)
In a world of slow-burning multi-part dramas, a 30-minute film that draws us in while packing an emotional punch certainly makes a nice change.
C4 has three of them this week: two tonight, called Through the Gates and A Mother’s Love (see top picture starring Nadine Marshall and Keajohn Jennings Dillon) and the final one, That Girl, tomorrow (10.30pm).
Each short film was written and directed by newcomers from diverse backgrounds, and the strength of the cast for each piece indicates how much quality these rising stars have.
Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty), Wunmi Mosaku (Damilola, Our Loved Boy) and Chanel Cresswell (This Is England) are just three of the acclaimed actors involved in tales of contemporary Britain that will stay with you.
