Undercover cop Kiefer Sutherland and Native American Lou Diamond Phillips are thrown together when a priceless Lakota tribal spear is stolen from a museum.

The thief turns out to be a cold-blooded killer and member of the gang of violent criminals that Sutherland is investigating.

Together, Sutherland and Phillips pursue the gang through the streets of Philadelphia and there is plenty of fast-paced action along the way.

The scenes in which the two leads gradually put aside their mutual animosity and get to know each other are clumsy, but director Jack Sholder handles the shoot-outs and chase sequences with aplomb, culminating in an exciting climax that takes in a blazing barn, a motorcycle and a cat-and-mouse hunt through woods.
