The first couple of episodes in any series of The Bridge can be fairly bewildering – all those people, all those unrelated plotlines.

But things are starting to pull together nicely in tonight’s third episode as we find out how the pickpocket sisters, the creepy commune, the odd twin brothers and the dead woman’s husband and his shady assistant Susanne all fit into the case of the murdered
immigration official.

The case is really starting to grip, but there are humorous moments, too, like watching the neat, orderly and intensely systematic Saga (the insanely watchable Sofia Helin) trying to get her head around the concept of hot-desking.
