Obsessed as we are with Judge Rinder, and much as we love watching Loose Women over lunch, sometimes it’s nice to be transported away with a brilliant drama during the afternoon. Luckily, the BBC have read our minds and produced a lavish period crime mystery to keep us entertained.

This five-part adaptation of Wilkie Collins’ detective novel stars John Thomson as Sergeant Cuff, the man tasked with finding a stolen jewel – the titular ‘moonstone’, which is as much of a curse as it is a family heirloom.

Watch out for a great performance from Miranda’s Sarah Hadland as do-gooding busybody Miss Clack. Showing weekday afternoons until Friday.
