The category is where Wallace and Gromit started, of course, but this live-action tale of a profoundly deaf child (Maisie Sly) being taught sign language by social worker Rachel Shenton is a different beast.

A thought-provoking film with a message, but delivered with such a light touch and with moments of real joy it’ll bowl you over, as it did Oscar.
