Marlon never wanted Paddy to take his son away and he never wanted Paddy to tell Ashley that he and Laurel are lovers. Paddy’s determined to do the first but he said he wouldn’t do the second. Paddy’s a sore loser, though, and so is Rhona. They thought they could just take off for two years to New Zealand with Marlon’s son but the court has forced them to put their plans on hold. They go to the pub for a drink but overhear Diane and Rodney talking about them – and they’re not saying anything nice. Furious because he’s being painted as the bad guy, Paddy blurts out that Marlon and Laurel are lovers and the whole pub hears him – including Ashley. And he thought he and Laurel were on track for a reconciliation!

Things aren’t all as Nikhil thought, either… Gennie has talked about having their own place after the baby’s born, but suddenly she’s moved out of Holdgate and back into Victoria Cottage. Why? Nikhil thinks she has left him but Gennie actually wants Nikhil to follow her.

After bouncing around in Moira’s bed for a few weeks, Alex has now decided he wants Victoria. It seems the tunes that are played on an old fiddle aren’t Alex’s kind of music…

Ashley had faith that he could resurrect his marriage and live happily ever after with Laurel, Gabby, Arthur and Sandy. He really believed he could make that happen. But he’s lost that belief now. He knows he and Laurel are truly finished, that she has said ‘Amen’ to the end of their marriage and he’s devastated. Laurel loves Marlon and wants to be with him, not Ashley. That hurts! He goes to Marlon’s and packs his bags; he can’t stay there any more. All of Ashley’s hopes for his future are shattered. His life will never be the same again…

Nikhil thought his world had ended when Gennie moved out of Holdgate. But she hadn’t left him, just his family. So, what’s he going to do about it? Well, Nikhil reacts the way Gennie hoped he would: he suggests he moves into Victoria Cottage with her. If only Paddy had so little to worry about… His friendship with Marlon was floundering on the rocks and now his outburst in the pub has well and truly torpedoed it. It doesn’t look like there’s anything left to salvage…
