For the final episode of the series, Gordon Buchanan is in Ethiopia to learn more about the hyena.

He begins in the capital city of Addis Ababa where hyenas are said to prowl the streets at night scavenging for food.

The hyena has one of the strongest bites of any animal and Gordon is warned never to turn his back, show fear or run from the hyena-shaped shapes visible in the trees.

Next, Gordon heads to the Omo Valley where the Bodi people live.

They are cattle-herders and face a daily struggle to protect their cows against the much-hated animals.

But it’s back in an urban landscape, the city of Harar, where Gordon sees a different side to this much-maligned predator.
