Viv is reeling from the news that Billy is about to be released and she decides to confront her fears. She visits Billy in prison and tells him that she’ll never forgive him for causing Vic’s death, but she needs to move on and will allow him to visit the village. Bob consoles an upset Viv, but Kelly is outraged that Viv has pretty much given Billy an open invite.

Andy continues to take his bad mood out on Katie and plays straight into Jo’s hands, who is keen to continue as his confidant. Jo organises an orienteering day for the three of them and Katie insists that Donna goes, too. Jo is thrilled when Andy tells him that he wishes that it was just the two of them going on the day out without Katie and Donna.

David is determined to look good in Pollard’s eyes and he undercuts the Blackstocks’ cleaning business to win new clients for his own company. Pollard is impressed, but he warns him not to steal workers from the factory for his own staff. David agrees and offers Betty a big wage increase to leave Laurel and work for him.
