A grief-stricken young Englishman (Colin Morgan) encounters an enigmatic older woman (Fanny Ardent) in the south of France.

Morgan’s architecture school drop-out has been left angry and bitter by the death of his ex-army-man father, whose dying words hinted at the loss of something of great value, taken from him long ago by his former commanding officer.

With only an old postcard and photo as clues, Morgan heads to Provence, where the trail leads him to a rambling old house, Ardent’s mysterious owner and  some long-buried family secrets.

This atmospheric mystery drama  takes its time revealing its secrets, but the slow-burn approach deepens the intrigue, while Morgan brings a glowering intensity and Ardant an exotic glamour to their characters’ curious duet.
