Rosamund Pike and David Tennant take their three kids to Scotland to celebrate granddad Billy Connolly's 75th birthday
Rosamund Pike and David Tennant take their three kids to Scotland to celebrate granddad Billy Connolly’s 75th birthday.
This engaging comedy sees the creators of Outnumbered repeating that sitcom’s winning mix of beleaguered parents, cute scene-stealing kids and spot-on observational humour with audience-pleasing results.
The fact that Pike and Tennant are getting divorced is the big secret that the kids are told to keep during the birthday celebrations.
Things do get a little formulaic towards the end, but Pike, Tennant, Connolly and Ben Miller, as Tennant’s brother, deliver the well-honed gags with aplomb.
As with the TV show, though, it’s the children’s often improvised dialogue that provides the funniest moments.
