For the final leg of his foray around wild France, Ray Mears is in Brittany on the north-west coast.

It’s here that the warm current from the Gulf meets the cold water of the English Channel making a dangerous passage for ships, but a haven for wildlife as the water is rich with food and nutrients.

After spotting a few seals, Ray finds a pod of dolphins that dive and dart around his boat, but the changeable weather sends him back to the shore where he spots some of the huge array of sea birds that also live in this rugged habitat.

He ends his journey watching the sun go down over the ocean, a peaceful and beautiful end to an enjoyable series.
