Mrs Tembe trips on her way to work and is aided by Good Samaritan Jenny Meadway who offers to help her to The Mill, where she’s heading to get her passport photo signed. Mrs Tembe is taken by Jenny’s warm and positive manner and introduces herself as Winifred – Receptionist at The Mill. When Jas asks for the £10 administration fee to sign the photo, Jenny is caught out without her purse.
Mrs Tembe offers to loan the money to Jenny who promises to come back later. Mrs Tembe’s faith in Jenny starts to wane, but then she appears with the money and the offer of a lift home. On the way, Jenny stops off at her church – River Way – a modern progressive congregation. A curious Mrs Tembe accepts an invitation to go in but, when the mother and toddler group arrive and cause chaos, Mrs Tembe realises this isn’t the church for her.
Mrs Tembe opens up to Jenny about how lately she feels far away from God – Jenny reassures her that she will find her way back to Him, and the journey will be better for not being easy. Mrs Tembe is comforted and they hug.
Meanwhile, Mandy decides to cheer Jas up and suggests a blind date with a friend. Jas is reluctant but after Al starts teasing her about the guy being a Hannibel Lecter type she finally decides to take a chance and go for it! Mandy asks Al how he met Jackie and he admits it was on the internet – but as Mandy and Jas head off they are unaware that Al is totally gutted!
Also, the scene of an accident takes Kevin into uncharted territory as he makes a shocking discovery in the woods.
