BBC1’s Holby City is set to be rocked by the return of Hari Dhillon as Surgeon General Michael Spence and the arrival of fiery newcomer, consultant Fleur Fanshaw, played by Debbie Chazen.

When we last saw Michael, CEO Guy Self had sent him packing following a spectacular showdown. Six months on, Michael’s back after a scandalous visit to America. It soon becomes clear Michael’s womanising ways travelled with him and landed him in hot water on the other side of the pond with a prominent senator’s wife!

Hari reveals his six-week reappearance will be action packed: “Michael’s return may be short, but it’s very eventful! He’s back to tie up a few loose ends and also shake up the wards – and certain Holby staff – in a way only he knows how. I’m really excited about this storyline and it’s great to be back working with the Holby team.”

Meanwhile, Michael’s partner-in-crime, the outrageously politically incorrect Fleur is also causing mischief on Keller Ward.

Actress Debbie Chazen (The Smoking Room, Psychoville, The Spa) is equally looking forward to her three-month stint on the popular medical drama.

“I am thrilled to be joining Holby as the outrageous Fleur – she’s going to be a lot of fun to play! I can’t wait to stir things up on Keller Ward and am looking forward to being able to tell my family that I’m a doctor at last.”

Debbie adds: “A while ago, I appeared in one episode as a character called Colette Barnes who was romantically obsessed with Dr Levy and made a huge nuisance of herself.  It seems this time I shall be creating havoc of a very different kind…”
