Michael Thomson has admitted he’s enjoying all the female attention his character is getting on Holby City.
Michael is currently at the centre of a major storyline in the BBC1 medical drama, which sees his character, Darwin nurse Jonny Maconie, caught between the affections of new love Bonnie Wallis (Carlyss Peer) and the demands of fiery surgeon Jac Naylor (Rose Marcel), the mother of his newborn daughter, Emma.
And he admitted he’s rather liking having two women fighting over him, though he’s not sure how realistic it is.
“Ha ha! That’s the story of my life, quite frankly,” he laughed. “Carlyss and Rosie are both attractive women, so you do stop and think: ‘Is anyone going to believe this?!’
“But,” he added, “It’s nice to have a bit of attention for Jonny and playing that dynamic has been so exciting because he’s being pulled in so many different directions.
“And, as an actor, of course it’s lovely having beautiful women fight over you!”
Holby City continues on Tuesdays at 8pm on BBC1
