Cage fighter Michael Bisping has been cast in Hollyoaks Later.
It is thought the Ultimate Fighting Championship star, who is nicknamed The Count, will play underworld gangster Nathan, a bad boy.
A spokeswoman for Lime Pictures, which produces the show, said: “We are delighted to confirm that UFC star Michael Bisping has been cast in this year’s series of Hollyoaks Later, which is due to transmit in October.”
It is not Michael’s first foray into acting – he has also finished filming the role of Drake in action film Beatdown.
New Hollyoaks boss Paul Marquess will take the helm of the show’s late-night spin-off.
He said: “We’re remaining tight lipped on all story-line information but we can confirm that Michael won’t be playing himself, but a strong, dangerous character that is set to cause trouble for two Hollyoaks residents.
“We are very excited about this year’s Hollyoaks Later series and we’re delighted that Michael will be part of the cast.”
Mercedes Fisher (Jennifer Metcalfe), Malachy Fisher (Glen Wallace) and new family The Costellos are also expected to feature in it.
