Darren Day will play the new bad boy in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.
Darren’s character, Danny Houston, is set to appear briefly on October 11, but later this year will make a shocking return…
Danny arrives as Brendan Brady’s best friend and silent partner of Cheryl’s nightclub Chez Chez. His dodgy character soon becomes apparent to Cheryl’s friends when they realise that his dealings and motives are not exactly above board.
The soap’s producer Paul Marquess commented: “Danny Houston is a dangerous but very charming character who makes an aggressive impact in his first episodes.
“Darren plays the part brilliantly and I’m delighted that we’re able to bring him back later this year.”
Darren said: “I’ve really enjoyed filming with Hollyoaks and I’m excited about coming back.
“Danny is the type of character any actor would kill to play and the part has been made even better as I’m working with great talent such as Claire, Emmett and Bronagh.”
He continued: “I’ve been a fan of the show for sometime and this is a very exciting time with the show’s recent reinvention. I’m delighted to join the cast.”
Hollyoaks resident Jacqui McQueen is soon swept up in Danny’s whirlwind arrival as she catches his attention over lunch. The chemistry between the two is risky because she is already dating Brendan.
However, Danny’s power and charm prove to tempting to ignore, resulting in Jacqui being immersed in a world of danger.
