Gemma Bissix’s exit from Hollyoaks in 2007 was one of the most dramatic storylines in recent soap history. Now she’s set to make a sensational return.
Clare Devine’s return coincides with the departures of ex-lover Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) and Justin Burton (Chris Fountain), who pushed her off the balcony at The Loft.
In another dramatic storyline, Warren and Justin get caught up in a fire at the nightclub, and it’s more than likely that Clare has something to do with the catastrophe.
A spokeswoman for Hollyoaks said: “We can confirm that Gemma Bissix will be returning to Hollyoaks. She will be filming with us in the next few weeks and will be back on screens in May.”
Gemma recently appeared on Dancing On Ice, where she became the first female contestant to be booted off the fourth series after losing a skate-off with former glamour model Melinda Messenger.
The actress, who had a short-lived return to EastEnders in 2008, scooped the Best Exit award at last year’s British Soap Awards.
She originally played Nigel Bates’ daughter Clare in EastEnders in the late 90s.
