The actress, heralded as the ‘face of the 80s’ by renowned photographer David Bailey, will play tempestuous Marnie Nightingale – the mother of James, Nathan and Ellie.
Lysette’s numerous film credits include Look Who’s Talking Now and Woody Allen’s Husbands And Wives.

She’s best known to television audiences for her role as Angie Tyler in 1980s BBC One sitcom Three Up, Two Down starring the late Michael Elphick and To The Manor Born’s Angela Thorne.
In teen soap Hollyoaks, Marnie descends on the village to cause havoc for her former husband (played by David Easter).
Alongside scheming son James (Gregory Finnegan), she plans to use Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) to take down Mac.

However, Cindy is the biological mother of Alfie Nightingale (Richard Linnell) and the reason for the breakdown of Marnie’s marriage.
Talking about her new role, Lysette said: “Quite simply I am utterly ‘made up’ joining Hollyoaks. It’s a fabulous show, great cast and brilliant crews – a lovely place to work.
“Marnie is – in brief – trouble. She loved and lost dramatically. She’ll never forgive Mac: ‘until death us do part’ is tattooed into her very psyche,” she explained.
“Meanwhile she’s back – determined to humiliate and destroy him. And that’s on a good day!”
Holyoaks’ executive producer Bryan Kirkwood added: “We are incredibly lucky to have signed the talent and glamour of the wonderful Lysette Anthony.
“I’ve always been a huge fan, and a few years after her previous Hollyoaks cameo as Louise Summers’ mum Yvonne, Lysette is now starring as brand new character Marnie Nightingale.

He continued: “Marnie is a complex, intriguing and hilarious matriarch with a big broken heart. She could start a fight in an empty room and I can’t wait to see the havoc and mischief she’s going to wreak on Cindy and the rest of the Nightingales.”
