Hollyoaks star Twinnie-Lee Moore says filming her character Porsche McQueen’s sexual abuse storyline has been draining, but she’s really proud of the results.
Twinnie-Lee talked to What’s on TV at the British Soap Awards about the revelation that Porsche was abused by mum Reenie’s boyfriend Pete when she was 15.
She said: “My storyline highlights would be my arrival, the train crash, which was my wedding, and the sexual abuse storyline that we’ve got running at the minute, which is very current and I think Hollyoaks are doing an amazing job of raising awareness… The NSPCC are involved and we’re really proud of it. It’s been exhausting, but it’s been really, really, really good to do.”
What lies ahead for Twinnie-Lee? “Drama, drama, drama, Zoe (Lucker, who plays Reenie) is so lovely to work with. She’s just amazing, she’s an incredible actress. Just drama really, I can’t really say too much…”
Quizzed which other TV character she’d like to play, she said: “Probably Jessie Wallace. [Kat’s] a great character, she’s had lots of emotional stuff and she’s funny and she’s got a great partnership with Shane Richie…”
Twinnie-Lee was nominated as Best Newcome at the soap awards, a title that went to xoxox on the night.
