Rebecca Breeds says bye-bye to Summer Bay

Home and Away star Rebecca Breeds has admitted she is relieved to leave Ruby Buckton’s troubles behind as she bids goodbye to Summer Bay.

The 25-year-old actress’s final scenes in the soap, after four years playing the disturbed student, have screened in Australia.

Rebecca wrote on Twitter: “Thank you. Such beautiful feedback. So sad that it’s all over, but kind of relieved to let poor Ruby go and heal… And my Eyes.. Love you.”

Ruby left the Bay in dramatic style after tampering with the brakes on love rival Indi Walker’s car, causing a horrifying road accident, which leads to the death of one of the other cast members.

Unable to live with herself, Ruby hands herself into the police.

Rebecca’s fiance Luke Mitchell, who plays Romeo Smith on the show, paid tribute to the actress on Twitter.

He tweeted: “Ladies & Gentlemen, put your hands together for the incomparable Miss Rebecca Breeds! #HollywoodIsWaiting #HomeAndAway”

Lincoln Younes – who plays Casey Braxton – wrote: “Congratulations to @BecEBreeds on a phenomenal last episode… It was a pleasure working with you. See you on bigger and better things!!! X”

Rebecca’s departure from Home and Away was revealed in May.

Her exit scenes will screen on Home and Away in the UK on Channel 5 in October.
