The 2007 champion makes a prediction about this year's show

So far this year Declan Donnelly has been forced to present the final two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway and all of the Britain’s Got Talent live shows alone after co-host Ant McPartlin’s drink drive arrest in March.

Ant was involved in a collision which resulted in him being fined £86,000 and banned from driving for 20 months, after he pleaded guilty to being over the legal drink drive limit.

Since undergoing treatment for his issues, Ant has been keeping a low profile and taking some time out of the limelight.

But, with Ant and Dec’s final TV commitment of the year – I’m A Celeb – looming, questions are being asked as to whether he’ll return in time.

The show is due to start in November, but Ant’s pal Christopher Biggins – who was crowned King of the Jungle in 2007 – doesn’t think he’ll be back in time.

“It is a terrible scenario but I think this year’s I’m A Celebrity will only be Dec, and then Ant will be back next year,” he said.

“Because he needs to get himself together and recover. My advice to him is that it is a great strain, it is terrible. It’s not an easy business, especially if you are such a big star as they are for ITV.”

With the certainty of Ant’s future on I’m A Celeb hanging in the balance, speculation as to who will replace him for this series has already begun.

According to a Ladbrokes spokesperson 2016’s Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt is a firm favourite to step into Ant’s shoes.

Having presented I’m A Celeb: Extra Camp alongside Joe Swash and Joel Dommett last year, Scarlett is currently the most likely replacement.

But, only time will tell.
