Comic Freddie Starr and US actress Stefanie Powers are reportedly heading to the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
TV bosses are said to have signed up a crop of more mature stars to the ITV1 show, after deciding that some of its best characters over the years have been older.
The Sun said that another contestant, ex-jockey Willie Carson, 68, and Lorraine Chase, 60, have already arrived in Australia.
Starr, 68, was photographed leaving Heathrow yesterday and Hart To Hart actress Powers, 69, is flying into Australia from Los Angeles.
Lorraine reportedly said: “I had a 60th birthday in July and ever since then I’ve been trying to find a challenge. I’m A Celebrity is that challenge.”
Willie said: “I’m not ready for the camping aspect and I’m really going to miss my bed. But I’ve spent my whole life with animals, so the jungle creatures will be no problem. I hope I’m going to be a natural in there.”
The Only Way Is Essex’s Mark Wright, 24, McFly bassist Dougie Poynter, 23, Real Hustle star Jessica-Jane Clement, 26, Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton, 36, Benidorm actress Crissy Rock, 53, and singer Sinitta, 43, have also been linked to the show.
