Jason Donovan has said he would consider a return to Neighbours if all his former co-stars are up for it.
The rumour mill has gone into overdrive that Jason and Kylie Minogue may return to the Channel 5 soap as Scott and Charlene Robinson for the Aussie show’s 30th anniversary in 2015.
Jason revealed on Loose Women he would be up for it, as long as former co-stars Kylie, Guy Pierce and Craig McLachlan were involved.
Jason said: “The thing about something like that is that it’s got to be a group effort, it can’t just be one or two, possibly if Kylie and Guy and Craig [returned], there’s a bunch of them.”
Kylie, who played mechanic Charlene in Neighbours from 1986 to 1988 recently said about the rumoured return: “It’s just not happening. It’s just a little rumour that got legs.”
But she fuelled the rumours when she tweeted: “So…..I bought overalls today. #overalls.”
When asked by Ruth Langsford whether Kylie’s tweet signalled a return for her character, Jason said: “It’s quite ambiguous. She might have just bought them. The problem is the publicity would overshadow any contribution you would make. I don’t know at this stage. Funnily enough my dad has been in Neighbours on and off for a few years so he’s making my contribution.”
Charlene and Scott’s son Daniel recently joined Neighbours, played by Tim Phillipps.
