Kylie rules out return to Neighbours for 30th anniversary: ‘Don’t cry, it’s just not happening’

Neighbours will not be welcoming Charlene Robinson back to Ramsay Street for the 30th anniversary as Kylie Minogue has said the rumours of her return are untrue.

Kylie was thought to be making her soap comeback for the special 30th anniversary celebrations, with Network Ten who make the programme even extending an open invitation to her to take part.

But now the singer has quashed the rumours in an interview with ITV London.

She said: “No it’s not true, I’m sorry, don’t cry… It’s just not happening. It’s just a little rumour that got legs.

“I’m just happy that [Charlene’s] still around. She calls in, her son’s turned up. I have such fond memories of Neighbours and it will always mean so much to me, so the fact that people were excited about the possibility of it happening is heartwarming. But no, it’s not happening.”

Even Anne Charleston, who played Kylie’s mum Madge Bishop, had recently told the Daily Mirror: “I think Kylie is on board for the special and I imagine everyone will be in on it because it’s a big occasion.”
