Neighbours will reportedly feature a wedding for its milestone 6,000th episode.
According to Australian paper the Herald Sun, budding fashion designer Donna Freedman and trainee paramedic Ringo Brown will tie the knot later this year.
Actors Margot Robbie and Sam Clark have recently been filming the ceremony.
The newspaper quotes Margot as saying: “It’s been fun, but it hasn’t given me a taste for getting married – especially if my wedding day goes on for this long!
“We’ve been filming the episode all week so I’ve been in the dress all week. Wedding dresses are not exactly comfortable and it’s been freezing.”
Ringo has recently returned to British screens. The character had gone to Sydney after finding out Donna had cheated on him with Andrew Robinson (Jordan Smith).
His relationship with Donna is still frosty following his heartbreak.
Margot promised “a lot of drama” in the run-up to the wedding, and admitted she could be under pressure following the iconic 1987 nuptials of Scott Robinson (Jason Donovan) and Charlene Mitchell (Kylie Minogue).
She said: “I’ve never seen that episode. I have no idea what I am competing with. But it’s Kylie Minogue, so I have big shoes to fill.”
Neighbours’ 6,000th episode forms part of the soap’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
