The 21-year-old, who has joined the Australian soap as Paige Kovak, admitted that some of the crew remembered her elder half-sister – who played Felicity ‘Flick’ Scully – for her swearing. Holly launched her career on Neighbours 15 years ago.
“A lot of the crew have been there from the start, for 25 or 30 years. When I went there, everyone asked how Holly is doing,” she said. “Everyone who knew her said she has a filthy mouth. Everyone really loved her, they really got along with Holly back in the day.”
Olympia said getting the role in Neighbours was a dream come true.
“It’s the best job in the world. I couldn’t be in a better job in Australia. When I was little, I used to go on set with Holly. It’s always weird going onto a set because you think it’s real when you watch it on TV,” she said.
“When Holly was on, I watched it a lot more when the Scullys were there. That’s when I was properly introduced to Neighbours,” she added.
Holly gave her some advice before she started the job.
“She told me, ‘Make sure you’re prepared and make sure you know all your lines because no one’s got time for you to stuff up’, and that’s what I’ve done. Most of the time, as soon as I come home from work, I’m learning lines. That’s all I ever do!” Olympia said.
“It’s so fast-paced. You only get one or two takes, so you have to go on there super-prepared. You have to know exactly what you’re doing,” she added.
Neighbours continues on weekdays, at 1:45pm and 5:30pm, on Channel 5.
