Neighbours actor Sachin Joab has revealed shooting the aftermath of Priya Kapoor’s affair scenes was challenging.
Sachin’s character Ajay threw his wife Priya (Menik Gooneratne) out after discovering she had a fling with bad boy Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), but had to persuade her to return for the sake of their daughter Rani (Coco-Jacinta Cherian).
In a Q&A video on YouTube, the actor – who is leaving Neighbours – admitted: “Ajay’s mind is going in two different directions at that stage – he doesn’t want Priya to come back as he just kicked her out, but at the same time, he has to ask her to come back to keep the relationship between mother and daughter. That was quite difficult and really challenging.”
Sachin, who has already filmed his final scenes on Neighbours, is set to leave the soap in the summer with his screen daughter Coco-Jacinta, after Menik’s character was killed off in an explosion.
He revealed that he enjoyed working with Stefan. “It’s a lot of fun working with Stefan Dennis. We’re good friends and we’re already joking around. In the rehearsal scenes, we will do our scenes in foreign accents as if we’re Italian New York gangsters. Then, we’ll switch back to our normal Aussie accents for the actual take,” he said.
The Australian star now plans to head to America to try his luck in Hollywood.
“That’s pretty much the plan. I will end up in LA, so I will see what my chances are like there. If things work out, that’s good and if not, I’ll come back (to Australia) and keep trying,” he added.
