Hey, girlfriends! Gok Wan’s back in town

Flamboyant fashion guru Gok Wan continues his quest to cure the nation of its wardrobe malfunctions with a third series of his Channel 4 series Gok’s Fashion Fix.

Each week, the 35-year-old presenter will be giving one lucky woman the ultimate makeover, while he also reunites with designer fashion buyer Brix Start-Smith for a regular catwalk showdown.

We caught up with Gok to get some personal advice…

I want to show viewers how to dress for less… Most women aren’t footballers’ wives with £75,000 to spend, so if you want to look good on an affordable budget, I’ll give you some options.

I’m desperate to help people look better… It baffles me that so many have no clue. I’ve been shouting for years now that the nation has lost confidence in how to dress.

The show’s catwalk challenge is very daunting… It’s the part of the show where I customise high-street clothes and go head to head with designer outfits selected by Brix. That section makes me panic. Going up against the big designers is a tall order.

On-screen, Brix and I are fiercely competitive… When the cameras are switched on, Brix is my arch-enemy, but when they’re turned off, we have a kiss and a cuddle.

My head hasn’t been turned by fame… Because I had a life as Joe Public before finding success, I think I’ve managed to keep my feet on the ground.

My fashion icon is Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City… Her style is so experimental, so cute and girly. I love it. Her screen style has merged into her real life and she wears some hot outfits on the red carpet.

I love dancing… My ideal night out is going to a club and dancing around to cheesy Eighties music with my friends.
