Strictly Come Dancing contestant Abbey Clancy is reported to be furious over claims that she has had dance lessons in secret.
According to the Sunday People the model – who finished a close second to Patrick Robinson on Saturday night’s show – has been forced to deny suggestions she is cheating her way to victory.
And although she did admit to having had 30 hours of professional dance training as a teenager – when she was a member of the band Genie Queen – sources have said the lessons were far from extensive.
“She’s really angry about it,” the insider told the paper. “She didn’t train with the dance school for three years.
“They helped the girls out for a couple of months while she was in a band. She had two sessions a week for two months. It is not on the same level as Natalie Gumede or Denise van Outen last year, who received dance lessons.
The insider added: “Abbey also had four dance lessons when she was 14. But this was street-dance, a world away from ballroom.”
The 27-year-old finished in the bottom two last Saturday night but bounced back this weekend with a rousing Charleston which won her 36 points from the judges.
Craig Revel Horwood said the routine “was loud and proud” while Len Goodman jokingly dubbed her “Downton Abbey”.
The results will be revealed on Sunday night’s Strictly, with one more couple leaving the competition.
