He's been teasing fans with his cryptic social media posts...
It’s been a while since we saw Jim Robinson gracing Ramsay Street, but actor Alan Dale, who played the character from 1985 to 1993 has sparked rumours that he could be reprising the role with a cryptic post on social media.
The actor, who is currently starring in American soap opera, Dynasty, shared a snap on his Twitter page of a sign that welcomed him to a filming location… which he revealed was actually for none other than Neighbours!
Despite the fact Jim died of a heart attack back in 1993, Alan has caused a frenzy amongst Neighbours fans by suggesting that he was back filming at the Australian soap.
In the post Alan revealed that he had been doing some filming for Neighbours at a studio in Atlanta, and had arrived for the day to find a sign welcoming him with the words, “G’day Mr Dale”
Of course fans were over the moon with his tweet, speculating if and when Jim might be returning to Erinsborough, with some suggesting that the character might have faked his own death.
It wouldn’t be the first time that a character has come back from the dead – after all, Harold Bishop managed it, so why couldn’t Jim?
Or could Alan be coming back to the soap as a ghost? Perhaps Jim could return as an apparition to visit son Paul Robinson during a moment of need? Or to meet his grandchildren, David and Leo Tanaka, or Amy Williams?
Earlier this year Alan returned to the Neighbours set in Australia and was reunited with Stefan Dennis, who plays his on-screen son, Paul Robinson.
Unfortunately for Neighbours fans it was just a social visit, and Alan didn’t do any filming. But it sounds like there could be something in the pipeline if Alan’s post is anything to go by.
Everyone keep your fingers crossed.
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5
