Soap fans are in for a treat as a familiar face from Emmerdale joins the cast of Coronation Street...
Former Emmerdale and Cutting It star Sian Reeves has reportedly landed herself a new role in Coronation Street as a face from Tim Metcalfe’s past.
The actress has been spotted filming along side Joe Duttine, who plays Weatherfield’s Tim, in scenes likely to air towards the end of the year.
But it seems Tim isn’t the only character the newcomer will be spending time with, because actress Sian has also been spotted filming with Simon Greyson, who plays cobbles cabbie Steve McDonald, and Michael Le Vell, who is better known as Kevin Webster in the soap.
But as fans know, this won’t be the first time that Sian has appeared on a soap.
In 2009 the actress joined Emmerdale as dangerous bunny boiler Sally Spode, who was an ex girlfriend of vicar Ashley Thomas.
It soon transpired that Sally was obsessed with Ashley and not long after arriving in the village she tried to kill off Ashley’s then wife Laurel in a church fire so that she could regain Ashley’s love.
Thankfully her plan was unsuccessful and after a six month stint in the soap, the character was sectioned under the mental health act for her crimes.
It remains to be seen what character Sian might be playing in Coronation Street, but let’s hope for Tim and Sally’s sake the newcomer isn’t quite as unhinged as Sian’s Emmerdale alter ego!
According to metro.co.uk, the new character will arrive in Coronation Street with a connection to Tim, but further details are being kept under wraps for now.
Could Sian’s character cause trouble for Sally and Tim’s marriage?
The pair have been through a tough time of late, having only recently got themselves back on track after Sally’s stint in prison for fraud – a crime she didn’t commit.
The pair almost split when Tim also thought that he had slept with Sally’s sister Gina, so could the new face on the cobbles be another love rival for poor Sally?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
