Posh’s attempts to introduce herself to America were met with cutting reviews on Monday night.

Her six-part TV series had already been cut to one ‘special episode’ by NBC, which was savaged by US critics.

“If this wasn’t a one-shot deal and people were exposed to her vapid, condescending behaviour on a weekly basis, she’d not just be unwelcome in America, she’d be run out on a rail,” wrote New York Post reviewer Linda Stasi.

The New York Daily News carried the most scathing reports, which gave the episode no stars out of four and described it as ‘an orgy of self-indulgence so out of whack with, er, reality that you’ll sit there slack-jawed at the gall of these people’.

It went on to say: “Beckham, who is bizarrely constantly posing even in her own home, offers insights about how major a new purse is or how a new phone has changed her life.”

Oh dear. Watch for yourself when Victoria Beckham: Coming to America screens on ITV1 on Tuesday night at 9pm.
