Amy Winehouse will perform live with her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield on this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The 13-year-old will sing her new single Mama Said, with Amy performing backing vocals.

Dionne said: “Amy and I both love Strictly Come Dancing. I watch it every single Saturday, so it was brilliant to find out I’ll be on TV for the first time singing on one of my favourite shows.”

Her godmother Amy explained: “The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing… such an amazing voice from such a young girl.. she’s so much better than I was at her age. I’m just so proud of her.”

BBC entertainment boss Mark Linsey revealed that the Strictly team have had Amy Winehouse on their wish-list of guests for a long time.

“We are delighted to showcase the television debut of Dionne Bromfield on Strictly Come Dancing. Dionne is an exceptional new talent and it will be an extra special event for our viewers to see her perform alongside Amy Winehouse, an artist we have been looking to book on the show for some time.”

Strictly Come Dancing will be on BBC1 on Saturday from 7pm till 9.15pm.
